NomadLAB provides application-level signal emulation and protocol analysis for testing smart card readers that implement the ISO 14443 (A, B types) protocol for 13.56 Mhz contactless communication interfaces. It includes the possibility to add support of ISO 7816 protocol for testing of contact card readers.
NomadLAB's price and testing features which are tailored to integrators and software developers make it the ideal validation tool for companies who need to equip development and support teams. NomadLAB operates both as a PC peripheral (USB 2.0) and as a fully autonomous standalone spy for testing in the field.
In emulation mode, layer 3 commands (ATQA, ATR, etc.) are automatically handled by the NomadLAB. Layer 4 commands received by NomadLAB are easily retrieved using its software API and can be treated by software, with responses then provided via the API.
NomadLAB can be used and configured with RGPA software, or controlled by scripting with Python, JScript, Java, C++, or other languages that support Microsoft COM objects.
In standalone "spy" mode, users benefit from a large color display with touch controls to facilitate tool configuration and display of resulting communication traces. NomadLAB provides the right degree of visibility of communication at the protocol level, so that engineers can rapidly and easily understand where and when problems occur without getting bogged down in the complexities of low-level signal behavior.
